Animals Requiring a Tag: Moose, Deer, Elk, Bear, Wild Turkey, Coyote, Wolf

  • Fails to possess the appropriate tag for the wildlife being hunted
  • Fails to invalidate the proper hunting tag immediately upon harvest
  • Fails to keep the tag on their person or attached to the carcass while transporting
Infraction
Sentence: None
Fine: 500 (Each violation is a separate offense)
Examples:
• A hunter shoots and kills a moose without notching their moose tag immediately after.
• A hunter harvests a deer before properly invalidating their deer tag.
• A hunter loads a deer into their vehicle and departs before filling out their deer tag.
