[12] 5 - Mobile Food Units
“Mobile food unit.” Any apparatus or equipment that is used to cook, prepare or serve food, and that routinely changes or can change location and is operated from a moveable vehicle or apparatus, including but not limited to motorized vehicles, trailers, and hand propelled carts. Any mobile food unit must meet the following safety requirements set by the the San Andreas Fire Marshal:
- Need Class K extinguisher if grease.
- Needs 1x ABC Extinguisher on board.
- Propane tanks (if applicable) need to be secured. Gas shutoff must be labeled and easily located.
- Need one carbon monoxide detector.
- Needs one clear means of egress pathway.
Any if one of these criteria are not met, a fire inspector has the right to shut down any/all mobile food unit operations.
