Reckless endangerment occurs when a person recklessly engages in conduct that creates a substantial risk of serious bodily injury or death to another person. A person acts recklessly when they are aware of and consciously disregard a substantial and unjustifiable risk that their conduct will result in harm. This offense is classified as a misdemeanor when the conduct creates a substantial risk of serious bodily injury, and as a felony when the conduct creates a high likelihood of death or shows an extreme disregard for human life.
