[3] 1.1 - 1st Degree Speeding: A person shall not operate a motor vehicle at a speed that exceeds the posted speed limit by 65 mph or more. Such conduct constitutes a serious violation of traffic safety laws and may be treated as a criminal traffic offense due to the extreme risk posed to public safety.

[3] 1.2 - 2nd Degree Speeding:

A person shall not operate a motor vehicle at a speed that exceeds the posted speed limit by 41 to 64 mph.

This level of speeding is considered a major violation due to the significant increase in stopping distance and loss of safe vehicle control.
