Commercial Vehicle Operators must possess a logbook with the following information:

  • Load Origin
  • Load Destination
  • Load Contents
  • Name of Load Recipient
  • Name of Load Sender
  • Name of Driver's Employer
EXCEPTIONS
- Commercial vehicles without cargo loads do not require load-related information; therefore they only require the name of the driver's employer.
- Self-owned / self-employed ("Owner operator") drivers may claim themselves as their own employer.
- Vehicles operated by public entities such as government operated bus lines are exempt from this code.
- Any vehicle displaying exempt plates is exempt from this code.
- Vehicles that are for-hire to provide transportation for passengers (e.g. Taxi, Uber, Lyft, etc.) are only required to provide Employer information.
