The use of audio equipment, microphones, and soundboards directly affects the quality and atmosphere of our server. To maintain a professional and immersive environment, all players are expected to adhere to the following standards regarding sound.

  • Microphone Quality: Players are expected to have a reasonably clear microphone. If your audio is consistently distorted, creates high-pitched feedback, or has excessive background noise (e.g., loud fans, television, or pets), you may be asked to adjust your settings or resolve the technical issue before participating in scenes.
  • Voice Volume and Tone: Maintain an appropriate volume for your microphone. Intentionally shouting, whispering too quietly to be heard, or using voice-altering software to make your character sound unnatural or "cartoonish" is considered FailRP.
  • Soundboards: The use of soundboards is strictly prohibited unless explicitly authorized by staff for a specific, high-quality production or event. Playing music, sound effects, or pre-recorded clips through your microphone—even if intended for "comedy"—breaks immersion and disrupts other players' ability to roleplay.
  • Music and Copyright: Do not play music through your microphone in public spaces. If your character is in a setting where music is appropriate (e.g., a club or a vehicle), use the server’s built-in systems designed for media playback, ensuring they comply with local copyright policies.
  • Language and Conduct: Regardless of the audio settings, all voice communications must remain civil. Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language via voice will lead to immediate and permanent removal from the server.
If you are roleplaying in a busy environment, ensure your "Push-to-Talk" settings are configured correctly to avoid transmitting unwanted household or background noises. This simple step goes a long way in keeping the scene focused.
Soundboard Abuse
Using a soundboard to spam audio, disrupt scenes, or harass others will not be tolerated. This is considered a malicious disruption of gameplay and will result in immediate administrative action, including potential banning from the server.
