Weapons and Lethal Force

In this city, firearms and weapons are treated with extreme gravity. Their possession and use are not merely game mechanics for combat; they are high-stakes narrative elements that carry heavy in-character and out-of-character consequences.

  • Acquisition and Legality: All weapons must be acquired through appropriate in-character channels. The possession of illegal firearms should be a core part of your character’s narrative and must be handled with the secrecy and caution a criminal would realistically exhibit.
  • Branding and Escalation: Displaying a weapon in public is a serious escalation and should be reserved for life-or-death situations. Brandishing a weapon to intimidate someone over minor grievances or insults is an unrealistic, improper use of force and will be treated as FailRP.
  • Weapon Storage: Weapons must be stored and transported realistically. "Magically" pulling a heavy rifle or a shotgun out of thin air is prohibited. Use appropriate RP (e.g., /me retrieves a submachine gun from the duffel bag in the trunk) to explain the origin of your weapon during a scene.
  • Lethal Force: Must only be used when there is a clear, immediate, and unavoidable threat to your life or the lives of others, as established through active roleplay.
  • Discharge: Firing a weapon in a populated area or a non-combat zone, even as a "warning shot," is highly likely to draw immediate law enforcement intervention and will be scrutinized for potential RDM or FailRP.
If you are caught with an illegal weapon by law enforcement, your character must accept the resulting legal consequences—including potential jail time or asset seizure. Do not attempt to use "clout" or OOC excuses to avoid the consequences of possessing illicit gear.
No Weapon-First Interaction
You may not initiate a roleplay encounter by pulling a weapon. A weapon is the conclusion of a failed negotiation, not the opening line of a conversation. Any attempt to use threats of lethal force to bypass roleplay or "win" a social interaction will result in severe penalties.
